Punchdrunk Design
The design element for Punchdrunk is important to their performances because it creates the atmosphere for the piece, it also has the ability to add to the storyline and plot as the design which includes props, lights and sound can contribute to presenting what is happening within the scene. For example props that are included in the set design and which can be investigated by the audience for Punchdrunk can be clues and hints to the storyline and the characters intentions and motives. Lighting and sound is also very important and can be a very powerful tool in a the Punchdrunk design as it has the ability to create the tone and mood for the scene, and allow the audience to understand what the atmosphere is for this scene, for example a dark room with low lit candles with atmospheric, sinister music which create tension within the room and give of a gloomy and dark feeling to the scene.
