Initial Response to Punch Drunk

My initial response to 'Punch Drunk' is that I am very intrigued to experiment with it and learn more about the style. The concept of 'Punch Drunk' is a very unique and eye opening form of theatre that takes the idea of 'immersive theatre' to a whole other level. It aims to create a highly impacting experience for its 'audience' using music and physical movements and the element of set designs which are eye catching and intriguing for its 'audience'. 

I really enjoyed watching the videos and trailers for Punch Drunk Productions and they are definitely something I would love to experience, It also made me feel much more excited to get started on adapting our own Punch Drunk performances using the play 'A Dolls House' which we have previously worked on, and I think we will be able to create an interesting concept combining the two.

Initial Group Discussion

In our groups initial discussion in regards to our ideas for our Punch Drunk, 'A Dolls House' interpretation we talked about experimenting with the idea of having scenes and characters from the play being set throughout different time periods in history, we think that this would create a really interesting and unique performance to watch. We also discussed how we believe each of the characters from the play would be portrayed in the new time period and how they would act and look differently to their original characters setting. We talked about what roles everything would feel most comfortable portraying in our pieces as well and any ideas each of us had for that character and the piece as a whole.

We want to ensure everyone's ideas our heard throughout the process leading up to our performance, this enabling us to create the best piece of work.
