Greek Chorus Work - 30/09/22

In today's lesson we created a performance using elements from Greek chorus.

I'm pleased with the outcome of our performance and I think it shows how effective chorus work can be to tell a story. When our group was first given the script on the board for our performance we discussed some story ideas and then eventually came to the idea of two families from different financial backgrounds. Then with a story behind our piece we were able to experiment with different emotions and feelings between the two families and how we could present them through our performance.

We used a few types of choral speaking in our performance such as, unison, line around, antiphonal, and cumulative.

I have enjoyed working with choral speaking which is another element of our Greek theatre work.

The strengths in regards to our performance is that we had strong vocal skills, this is important because it makes the performance more impactful as we have been able to create a dramatic atmosphere.

However we do have areas for development, such as making our movements more dramatic and impactful to match our vocals, as we do stay in the same position for a period of time.
